Best Neighborhoods in Johns Creek, Georgia | Moving to Johns Creek, GA

Hello! This is Tim Trevathan of Tim Trevathan Homes and Keller Williams Realty. Today I want to tell you about 3 very popular neighborhoods in Johns Creek, Georgia. Located in northern Fulton County, Georgia. Johns Creek is a popular Atlanta suburb with many established swim & tennis communities. The three I picked to tell you about today are spread across Johns Creek and are all very large neighborhoods with active homeowners’ associations.

If you are a subscriber to my channel, you have probably already seen my other videos on Johns Creek. If you haven’t already seen them and are considering a move to Johns Creek, I encourage you to go check them out after this video.

First up is Country Club of the South. If you are looking for luxury living at its finest, look no further than Country Club of the South. Home to 745 residences, Country Club of the South has two gated, manned entrances and the neighborhood is also routinely patrolled by security.

Homes here are large, averaging over 7,000 sq ft. They are also expensive, with homes sold in the past 6 months selling for just under $1,000,000 on the low end and over $3,000,000 on the high end.

There are a variety of home styles in Country Club of the South, and you will especially see a lot of traditional and Mediterranean style homes. Homeowners here spare no expense when it comes to maintaining and updating their homes and you will find absolutely beautiful gourmet kitchens with top-of-the-line appliances and finishes, large and impeccably designed common rooms with custom details throughout, and large and luxurious bedrooms and bathrooms. Homes here have beautifully designed outdoor entertaining areas, and many homes have impeccably landscaped, custom built in-ground pools.

The mandatory homeowners association fee is $3,400 annually and provides access to a newly renovated recreation center, 2 pools, tennis courts, basketball courts, and playgrounds.

One thing residents often say is that Country Club of the South feels like a true community and not just a neighborhood where no one knows anyone. The HOA is active and hosts events throughout the year.

There are actually two separate Country Club of the South entities. The first is the neighborhood I just told you about. The second is the golf club located on the same property.  Membership to the Country Club of the South golf club is optional though quite popular among homeowners. For more details on the golf club, check out my video on Things To Do In Johns Creek.

The next neighborhood I want to tell you about today is Medlock Bridge. This popular neighborhood is well known in Johns Creek, and is conveniently located off of Highway 141, providing easy access to schools, shopping, and dining.

Built primarily from the late 1980’s into the 1990’s, this subdivision is large, with over 600 homes, and you’ll find primarily traditional 2-story homes with 3-sided brick or 3-sided stucco exteriors.

Though these homes are older, many homeowners have done a nice job of maintaining and updating their homes. You’ll find some homes with completely remodeled kitchens and bathrooms complete with new flooring and cabinetry and others that have been updated with granite countertops and stainless-steel appliances. Other homes are mostly original, with only minor updates.

Many homes in Medlock Bridge have daylight basements, and some yards are flat and grassy while others are private and wooded.

When it comes to home size, there is a good bit of variety in Medlock Bridge. The smallest homes are just over 2,000 sq ft while the largest are over 5,000 sq ft. Homes have 4-6 bedrooms and 2-5 full bathrooms.

The main level is where you’ll find the kitchen, breakfast nook, formal dining and space for home office or formal living room. In some homes, you’ll also find a secondary bedroom.

In the past 6 months, 19 homes have sold in Medlock Bridge. In the current low inventory market that we are experiencing, if you have your heart set on moving into a particular neighborhood, choosing a large neighborhood like Medlock Bridge can be helpful since the large number of homes means a greater chance that homes will hit the market and become available.

Just like home sizes vary, prices vary too. Of the 19 homes that sold in the past 6 months, the lowest sale price was $520,000 and the highest was $950,000.

Medlock Bridge does have a mandatory homeowners association. The annual fee is $1,326 with a $1,500 transfer fee. Amenities include two clubhouses available to host private events, two swimming pools, tennis courts, and a park with a soccer field and basketball court. The neighborhood runs along Johns Creek and has walking trails that allow you to escape the hustle of suburbia and escape to nature for a bit.

Medlock Bridge is zoned for the award-winning Johns Creek High School, Autrey Mill Middle School, and Medlock Bridge Elementary School.

The homeowners association is very active and hosts events throughout the year.

The last neighborhood I want to highlight today is Seven Oaks. Located in northern Johns Creek off of McGinnis Ferry Road, Seven Oaks is a large subdivision with 642 homes that were primarily constructed in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s.

These home are primarily large, traditional 2-story 4-sided brick or stucco homes. Most homes have daylight basements and are on large lots ranging from 0.3 acres to 0.7 acres in size, giving you plenty of space to spread out and not feel like you are right on top of your neighbors.

Like Medlock Bridge, these homes have been updated to varying degrees over the years and you’ll find most homes have at least some upgrades. Some homes have completely renovated kitchens and bathrooms down to new flooring, new cabinetry and plenty of custom details while others have smaller upgrades with new countertops, appliances, fixtures, and lighting but with the original cabinetry.

On the main level, you’ll find open floor plans that flow easily between the kitchen, breakfast nook, and family room, with space also for a formal dining room and formal living room or home office.

These homes are large, averaging just over 4,000 sq ft. Most homes have 5-6 bedrooms and 4-5 full bathrooms, with a few homes that are larger or smaller.

In the past 6 months, 16 homes in Seven Oaks have sold, with a median sold price of $837,500. Like many neighborhoods in Johns Creek, homeowners association membership is mandatory. The total annual fee is $1750, with a transfer and initiation fee around $2,000.

HOA membership includes access to the community fitness center, swimming pools, tennis courts, and athletic field. The HOA is active and hosts events throughout the year.

Seven Oaks is zoned for the popular Northview High School, River Trail Middle School, and Findley Oaks Elementary School.

I hope you found this helpful! If you are planning to move to Johns Creek, there are plenty of wonderful neighborhoods to choose from and these are 3 of the local favorites.
