10 Things to Do in Buford, Georgia 

Hi! I’m Tim Trevethan with Tim Trevathan Homes and today I am going to tell you about 10 things to do in Buford, Georgia. A wonderful suburb north of Atlanta, Buford maintains a hometown feel while also offering something to do for everyone. Today, we only have time to talk about 10 things to do in Buford but know that this is just the tip of the iceberg. When you live in Buford, you will find yourself just a short drive away from all sorts of activities.  

  1. Treetop Quest Gwinnett. Located only minutes from the Mall of Georgia, Treetop Quest Gwinnett offers an exciting adventure in the trees. Boasting 7 obstacle courses plus a special harness free adventure, you will feel like you are in the middle of nature rather than in the heart of the suburbs. Visitors must be at least 7 years old to enjoy the main courses, but there is a special course just for younger kids ages 4-6 years old. While walk-up tickets are available, it is best to make reservations in advance to ensure you get your preferred time and time slots fill up quickly on the weekends and when school is out.  
  • Buford Dam Park. Offering a 3.8-mile trail, a beach area, picnic areas, and fishing, Buford Dam Park is the ideal place to escape the business of daily life and unwind. It is important to know that as an Army Corp of Engineering park, there is a small entrance fee and dogs are not allowed. Swimming is allowed at this well-maintained park, and children are sure to enjoy the beach area. If you are looking for a place to host a birthday party or family reunion, consider renting a pavilion at the park.  
  • Cloudland Vineyards and Winery. This is perhaps Buford’s best kept secret. There is no need to travel to North Georgia to enjoy an afternoon at a winery when there is one only minutes from home. On many Fridays, the winery often offers live music and food trucks. Bring some friends and enjoy the perfect ending to a busy week.  
  • Margaritaville at Lake Lanier Islands. You’ll have so much fun beating the summer heat at Margaritaville at Lake Lanier Islands that you’ll want to buy a season pass. During the summer, enjoy all the waterpark has to offer. Kids of all ages will find something to suite them with attractions including the largest wave pool in Georgia, a toddler-friendly splash zone, and plenty of water slides. During the winter, enjoy License to Chill Snow Island. Come and snow tube, play in the snow, ice skate, or enjoy carnival rides. If you stay long enough, you can enjoy the dazzling displays of the Lakeside Lights Spectacular on your way home.  
  • Paranoia Quest Escape the Room. If you enjoy solving puzzles, head on over to the Mall of Georgia and try your hand at Paranoia Quest Escape the Room. Can you solve the puzzle and escape the room in only 60 minutes? Paranoia Quest Escape the Room offers a multi-sensory experience as you work your way through the engaging puzzle. With 8 escape rooms, you will be able to return to Paranoia Quest for adventure after adventure. While the rooms are not designed with children in mind, most are not scary, and the Paranoia Quest welcomes children.  
  • Buford Corn Maze. Named one of “The 33 Best Corn Mazes Across America” by Country Living Magazine for the past 3 years, The Buford Corn Maze is bushels of fun for the whole family. The corn maze is a fall tradition for many families. If you are looking for even more adventure, check out the popular Haunted Forest. Don’t forget to head over to the pumpkin patch and find the perfect pumpkin to take home with you. 
  • 37 Main.  Located in downtown Buford, 37 Main is a fun place to enjoy live rock music On Thursday nights, come enjoy The Andrews Brothers Dueling Pianos Show. If you enjoy Trivia, you’ll want to grab your team and head over for the twice a month Trivia night. On the weekends, relax while enjoying great music, great drinks, and great food.  
  • Top Golf. You don’t have to be a golf pro to enjoy the Top Golf experience. No matter what your skill level, there is a game that you will enjoy. Climate controlled bays allow for a great experience no matter what the weather.  While you golf, choose something off the top-notch food and beverage menu to make your outing complete.
  • Andretti Indoor Carting and Games. Talk about having it all.
