Gwinnett is a popular place to live, and with good reason. Let’s take a look at 10 Reasons to Move to Gwinnett County.
First, location. The southern end of Gwinnett is just outside of the perimeter. If you’re not from Atlanta and have no idea what I’m talking about, “outside the perimeter” means outside of I-285, the interstate that encircles the city of Atlanta. If you want to live in suburbia and have a fairly easy drive into downtown Atlanta, Gwinnett is a great place to live.
At its northern end, Gwinnett runs along the shores of Lake Lanier. The lake offers abundant opportunities for recreation and getting away from it all. The cities of Buford and Sugar Hill are closet to the lake, and many residents choose to live there because of the easy access to the lake and all it offers.
Second, parks & recreation. While we’re talking about recreation and spending time on the lake, it’s a good time to mention Gwinnett County’s fantastic Parks & Recreation Department. Gwinnett County offers residents over 50 county owned and operated parks. These parks include aquatic centers, community recreation centers, historical sites, museums, sports fields, playgrounds, and miles of trails.
The county offers a variety of classes for all age groups throughout the year, and hosts summer camps and spring break camps for kids. In addition, Gwinnett County works alongside various local communities to host youth recreational sports leagues at some of its many parks.
Gwinnett works hard to maintain its parks and they are definitely a perk of living in Gwinnett County.
